Tonight Gypsy and Jackie went for a walk with me. We noticed an improvement along the Hartsfield Road walkway between Don Brewer elementary and Fort Caroline road. The amount of litter was reduced to just a small bagful of recyclables.
Poo patrol was really easy as well since besides picking up behind Gypsy, there was only one other pile left behind by another dog walker.
Jackie and Gypsy walked the round about. Traffic wasn't unusually heavy or light. While on the long straight away they were happy to have free roam since no pedestrian or bicycle traffic forced us to share the walkway. I used their long retractable leash tonight in combination with the traffic leash to cross the street.
Last night Penny was cooperative with a quick grooming. The element of surprise is the best way to give her a good brushing. I scooped her up into the rocker-recliner as she tried to wiggle and squirm her way back to the floor. She shed what looked like a small animal from her coat. I need to schedule a nail trim for her or replace the nail trimmer they have and do it myself.
Giovanni lets me trim his nails and give him a bath. We work together; I provide the bathtub, soap, and rinse and towel dry. He then goes to work on his coat until he's satisfied. Its a complicated process but everyone is happy at the end. Gypsy will give his embrace of approval to Giovanni with a series of face licks.
The moments that follow a household of clean, well groomed pets and an equally clean living room provide such an inviting atmosphere.
