Sunday
Sometime around noon the pack and I ventured beyond the neighborhood for a mid morning walk. The weather was and still is pleasant. Should stay this way through the end of this week. We stopped by the newly completed trail extending between SWIC & the YMCA. Just out and back over the bridge we walked. With the smaller of the two being paralyzed with fear anytime we come near a manhole, I should have expected the same reaction to passing over the walkway. She pulled it together thankfully. Not planning to be out with the gang very long since the pavement was still too warm for them, we went on a quest for a place to fill the water bowl and somewhere to dispose of the elimination bag.
Monday
Off to a slow start this morning. Remembering to feed the dogs as I pour my 2nd cup of coffee today. They got the rest of cereal I didn't remember to eat fast enough-before it went soggy. All tummies fed-I'm off to pick up behind them outside. Last night we walked the neighborhood, just over a mile. Tough waking up and going outdoors with the coolness of fall overnight-temperatures dropping into the upper 50's. All we wanted to do was huddle up on the couch & watch local news and home improvement shows. Might have missed the walk this morning but still enjoyed their company. We finally ended up taking a walk around 1230p.
Wednesday
Just coming home from our nightly walk. They needed the fresh air as much as I needed the unwind. The thunderstorm this evening was subsiding as I drove home from work. The streets were still wet and puddles of water had formed in several spots along our walking route. One caught me by surprise-started walking straight through not realizing how deep the puddle was and needed to take a couple side steps to avoid getting the shoes I was wearing soaked up to my ankles.
Thursday
Early start for me and the pooches. We finally broke the 8am lag. Instead of disregarding the urge to get up and away from our residence this morning, the dogs and I took the opportunity as a coffee run. We stopped by the pharmacy for a sleep aide and congestion reducer then headed over to the track we walked on Sunday. Instead of walking the bridge, we stayed on the YMCA side and did a lap around the field. Next we and about 30 other people decided to go to Starbucks at the same time. The wait wasn't that long and well worth i. Had my first tall Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Stopped by the self serve car wash to scrub some of the bugs from my fender then got back to the house and continued briefly with some tidying up. Their food bowls were empty soon after putting them down. What an accomplishment and its just after 10 am. Its #RVThursday and we spotted three on the roadways this morning.
Friday
Its #FieldDayFriday and I'm off to a late night cleaning party. Sometimes doing chores late at night works better than trying to do them during the day when I could spend those valuable day light hours doing something more fun. This evening the dogs and I went for a Starbucks run and picked myself up something to eat later. The pizza run and Netflix playing on the console phone mount made for a nice dinner and movie night. While waiting for the carryout order to be ready the dogs and I took the chance to walk the trail behind the YMCA at night. We stayed near the lit part of the trail for an out and back on the straight away. It wasn't too cold but definitely a noticeable change in air temp from weeks ago. I wore a sweatshirt and even turned the heat on in the car for a little bit. They had blankets spread out in the back seat. That reminds me of another area not to forget about during this field day Friday. They could use a brushing and maybe a quick face wash. In the morning I might go shopping for a couch cover since that's where they have been camping out while I'm doing floors.
